Our Facility
CityCanine is located on a wooded park-like acre, just outside Loop 610 in Northwest Houston. We offer two definite advantages over any other Board and Train facility in Houston: first, we live on property! Your dog is never left alone overnight, locked up in a building with hundreds of other lonely dogs. Second, all dogs staying at CityCanine sleep indoors - we have no runs. Our cottage is air conditioned and heated...just like when they are at home.
At CityCanine, our trainees (your dog, that is) sleep in a 1950's cottage that was used for decades as human habitation. We came in, rehabbed the building, added heat and air, and now there's space for a limited number of pups in training. We do not warehouse dogs in row upon row of steel cages, or put them outdoors in runs.
Adjacent to the cottage are our play fields; everyone comes out first thing in the morning for potty time and a long social interaction time. Later in the morning, after breakfast, we start our training walks around the half mile loop at Langwood Park (located a block and a half away).
Classes and the Canine Good Citizen test are held on the Big field, under the trees in the extended grassy area next to the east playfield.
