Level I Obedience Class

CityCanine offers classes for all dogs and their owners in all types of situations:
Level I Obedience: Dogs (14 weeks and older) are taught the commands that create happy living with humans. Owners are taught how to use, maintain, and reinforce behaviors that include leash-walking, sit/stay, come when called, down/stay, off, and others. In addition, we cover: controlling playbiting and chewing, socializing with people and animals, and greeting people without jumping up. This is a seven -week class that will meet the same day of the week for seven weeks in a row. Each session is one hour long.
Level II Obedience: Dogs that have completed Level I Obedience are taught advanced skills like heel position, on-leash heeling, added distraction ("Leave It!") and attention work,long-term downs, and beginning Obedience Trial Skills. This is very helpful for dogs that know many commands but may not always do those commands. The graduation exam consists of the AKC Canine Good Citizen test (at no extra charge). This is an seven - week class; each session is one hour long.
If You're Wondering What Course Your Dog Should Take, Ask Yourself the Following Questions:
Do you feel that your dog knows what the word "sit" means, even though your dog may or may not do it consistently or without nagging?
Do you feel that your dog knows what "lay down" means, even though your dog may or may not do it consistently or without nagging?
Do you feel that your dog knows what the word "stay" means, even though your dog may or may not do it consistently or without nagging?
Do you feel that your dog knows what the word "come" means, even though your dog may or may not do it consistently or without nagging?
Will your dog walk on a leash, even if it involves some pulling?
Is your goal to achieve the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification?
If your answer to the above questions is "yes", then you should consider the Level II class. Otherwise, Level I is for you!

Our Hours: We generally operate by scheduled appointments, available between the hours of 12 Noon and 6:30 p.m. We are closed on Tuesdays! Messages of a non-emergency nature (either voice-mail, text, or e-mail) will be returned Wednesday morning.
